Key Arena, Seattle Center, December 9, 2006

The home town crowd enjoyed the homecoming of Death Cab for Cutie. The show was more up-beat and energetic than I imagined from listening to their albums. It was clear that they like to feed off of the crowd. And the crowd responded to them. The lead signer showed his talents playing guitar, singing, playing the drums, and the piano at different times during the show. It was clear that they were a little surprised and excited about the size of the crowd. I'm guessing that Key arena was their biggest venue yet. They seemed modest and humbled at the exuberance of their fans. It was exciting to be there watching the band realize that at that instant, they may have finally made it BIG!

I was at the Seattle show too and was really pleased with the performance. While I would have liked to have seem them at a smaller venue they were clearly pretty jazzed about having such a large crowd in their home town.
